Financial Statements

Workshop: Understanding Financial Reports

Understanding financial reports is a key skill in the financial management of any organisation that is interested in its medium and long-term survival. Your end-of-year Financial Statements, and your committee reports in between, tell you where you stand, how secure your position is, and how you have done in the recent past.

This workshop covers:

  • An overview of financial statements (‘performance report’ for Charities).
  • What your funders see when they look at your Assets and Liabilities.
  • Analysing statements for decision-making about the future.
  • What you need to know about accrual-based reports and Statements.

Note: the key topics covered in this workshop are also covered in the customised Board workshops we are offering at your convenience. For training up your whole Board we recommend you book one of those. See here for more detail.
